Not Much to say

So I haven't posted much lateley but that is probably due to the fact that there isn't much to discuss. My day generally consists of:

Get up, help with boy, go to work, have coffee break, more work, lunch, more work (with occasional meeting), tackle traffic, go home or pick up boy, help with kid, have dinner, bath boy, help settle him down for bed (which generally involves half a dozen children's books and a sippy cup of milk), then I either read or watch a little TV go to bed and we do it all over again. Oh, and at some point my wife and I discuss the day's events.

Yep, that's pretty much about it.

Except for today because my kid has a cold, so I'm home with him today and I'm writing this while he naps. ...Day Care sucks.

Oh, and Happy Holidays!!

Here with a dude

So there's this kid here standing with me showing me his blog and he's only ten. Hmmmm. I feel so old and when I was his age I was just playing with plastic action figures and reading Judy Blume books.

Harry Potter

Well, I saw Harry Potter this weekend and although I've read the book, and thought the movie was quite good, I also found it to be a downer.

SO, I would have to say that if you are feeling down don't go see this movie, unless you are in to that sort of thing.

I heard a rumor from a friend (who may even be reading this) that originally the director (Nolan) wanted to split the story into two film and I think that would have been a great idea.
This film was a wee bit episodic and I think rushed in getting all the info and events out.

Also, "The Goblet of Fire" really stands on the shoulders of the films before it. This may seem obvious, but really, if you have not seen the prior three films don't see this one until you have watched them. You won't have a clue because the assumption is you have already watched them. And let's be honest, if you have not watched them why on earth would you be watching "The Goblet of Fire."

My rating: 4.5 out of 5

My favorite is still the first just on charm and that sense of wonder but this is probably my second favorite of the four movies.

Anyway, I might leave an audio blog but until then try and stay out of trouble.

;-)

P.S. In case you are wondering the shot above was not in the finished film. Hmm deleted scene me thinks.

Day Care Sucks

Blah! you know why I can't stand daycare's. The people are nice and all, but here I am with my kid at home because he has Strep Throat. Guess where he got it.

Yep, Daycare.

In the past month he has had two staph infections, Tonsillitis and now Strep. No rest for the wicked. You know if they kept the kids clean maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but I can't remember how many times I've picked up Donovan and there have been buggy nose kids running around. Personally I find it gross, so I can't understand why they don't at least wipe there noses. OK enough ranting.

Monster's Inc

While watching Monster's Inc. yesterday with my kid a funny thought came to mind. You know that scene where Boo is sitting in her bed and Sully is closing the door saying goodbye? That really sad scene struck me as a kind of a metaphore for the child and the adult. For the adult, we only see our children at that innocent young age for a very short time. At some point we must say goodbye to that child as it grows up. For the Child, he or she will one day say goodbye to their innocent dreams and imaginations, even if they may try to keep them around for just a little bit longer. The way Boo knew she had to say bye and then after Sully left ran to the door to see if he was still there was so...real.

And then again

OK, so today I've been learning how to create a subscription to my feed. I'ts using ATOM technology which is cool. I'm also going to try and get an RSS feed wrapper on it. So, more to come....

Oh, by the way, check in the lower right section. If you right click over the feed link and then past that into your RSS reader you'll be subscribed to this blog and get any updates. I know you were just salivating at that prospect.

Forgive me I'm new at this.
